Two years into my journey behind the chair, I started feeling a gentle pull toward opening a salon of my own. We began looking. We began praying. Before long, two different opportunities presented themselves — but just as quickly as they came, they both fell through.
I remember thinking, Maybe this just isn't the right time. And surprisingly, I had peace with that.
One evening, my husband and I were out for a drive when a building we'd driven past thousands of times suddenly caught our attention. It had been sitting vacant for over a year. Looking back, I still wonder why we had never considered it before. But that night we said, “Let's go take a look.”
The moment we walked through the front door, everything changed.
We immediately saw what that old house could become. My husband — a contractor — and I started dreaming, sketching, and imagining what the space could be. From the very beginning, it just felt right. There were certainly moments of wondering What if? But above all else, there was an overwhelming sense of peace. It truly felt like God had placed this opportunity right in our hands.
Not long after, we made an offer. One counteroffer later, the building was ours.
And then, just one month into the renovation, we received the sweetest news of all — we were expecting our first baby. After many prayers, Stella was on the way.
In one year, God entrusted us with two dreams: a business and a family.
From the very beginning, I dedicated this salon to the Lord. After all, it has never truly been mine — it has always been His. I simply have the privilege of stewarding what He's entrusted to me. That remains our prayer today: that everything we do within these walls brings glory to Him.
Since then, God has blessed us with three more beautiful children, and becoming a mother has shaped the way I lead this salon in ways I never could have imagined. I know firsthand how important it is for women to have meaningful careers while also having the flexibility to care for the people they love most.
My dream has always been to create more than just a beautiful salon. I wanted a place where clients feel genuinely loved and valued, where stylists feel supported, encouraged, and respected, where teamwork comes before competition, where faith can be shared freely, prayers can be spoken boldly, and everyone who walks through our doors experiences peace.
